Junior(Doctoral) Position in Public Economics

(75% TV-L E13)

The Chair of Public Finance at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg announces a junior(doctoral) position as of April 1, 2019, or later.

Applicants should have a completed Master’s degree in economics (or should be close to completion) with a focus on quantitative methods and should be interested in public economics. Fluent English skills are required. Fields of responsibility include participation in ongoing research and teaching (in English or German).

Participation in the PhD program of the School of Business and Economics is strongly supported. Funding for conference participation is available. Participation in third-party funded research with the option to increase the salary to 100% is encouraged.

The Institute for Economics provides an active and lively research environment. The Chair’s research team focuses on public economics. Current research projects deal with microdata analysis of public policy, including taxation and subsidies, as well as with inter-jurisdictional competition and issues of fiscal policy.

Salary corresponds to the German (Bavarian) pay scale. The appointment is initially limited for a period of three years but can be extended for additional two years. Options are available also for the time after the PhD.

Women are strongly encouraged to apply. Disabled applicants will be preferred when equally qualified.

For further information, please contact Boryana Madzharova (boryana.madzharova@fau.de) or Thiess Buettner (thiess.buettner@fau.de). Please submit your electronic application as ansingle pdf file including the usual materials (curriculum vitae, diplomas, transcripts) to wiwi-finanzwissenschaft@fau.de.
